IT is our pelvic floor.
IT is something we take for granted.
IT is something we don't talk about.
Many women will develop issues with IT in their lifetime which may be preventable and treatable...things like incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pain.
IT is our pelvic floor.

We invite you to come support the Pelvic Floor Clinic, within the Women's Health Ambulatory Care Clinic at Foothills Medical Centre for our first annual Walk/ Run on September 8th, 2019! This Walk/ Run will include 1 km, 5 km, and 10km distances, and everyone is encouraged to join in helping us raise awareness for the symptoms and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and associated disorders.

The Pelvic Floor Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic with dedicated physicians, nurses and pelvic floor physiotherapists who educate and treat clients with pelvic organ prolapse and associated symptoms.

Pelvic organ prolapse is a common condition affecting half of all women at some point in their lives. Additionally, about a third of these women will have some sort of urinary incontinence symptoms. Pelvic organ prolapse can be caused through a variety of associated factors like aging, lifestyle habits, child bearing and genetic factors. It is the role of the clinic to both educate and treat women to improve their quality of life, self-esteem and intimacy.

The registration fee of $25 is payable to the Calgary Health Trust. We additionally encourage you to fundraise either personally, or within your team. Funds raised will directly support patient care initiatives and educational programs within the Clinic.

Please dress for the weather, as the event will take place rain or shine! Light refreshments and treats will be provided following the Walk / Run. We look forward to seeing you there!
